Baalbek: Prime Minister Nawaf Salam on Thursday emphasized the urgent necessity to 'put an end to Israeli violations as quickly as possible,' declaring from Baalbek that the Lebanese government 'has spared no diplomatic effort to stop these actions and push for Israel's withdrawal.' Salam's call came during a visit to the historic city known for its ancient ruins and cultural significance.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Salam underscored the connection between security and development, stating, 'Security and development go hand in hand, and Baalbek, with its unmatched history and cultural richness, deserves to reclaim its role as a hub for tourism and regional growth.' He highlighted the potential of Baalbek to contribute significantly to the country's economic revival through its tourism sector.
Furthermore, Salam commented on the ongoing municipal elections, sharing insights from recent electoral experiences. He remarked, 'Our experience in Mount Lebanon was excellent despite a few irregularities that we addressed, and I am confident that the elections in the Bekaa will be conducted with the same level of neutrality and transparency.'
