Accra:Qatar's Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, has reaffirmed his country's ongoing support for Lebanon following discussions with President Joseph Aoun. The talks emphasized cooperation on energy projects and regional security developments.
According to National news agency - Lebanon, the Qatari leader highlighted the importance of bilateral relations and stressed the need for joint projects that promote regional stability and prosperity. He emphasized that Lebanon's energy sector is a key priority for Qatar, which aims to provide comprehensive solutions in this field.
The discussions also covered regional and international issues, including the situation in South Lebanon and Israeli actions against Lebanon. Al-Thani reiterated Qatar's support for Lebanon, particularly in relation to efforts for the withdrawal of Israeli forces from occupied territories and the transfer of control to the Lebanese Army.
"We will work during our forthcoming meetings with the Lebanese prime minister to advance the projects already agreed upon," Al-Thani stated, emphasizing Qatar's commitment to standing by Lebanon.
