Beirut: Minister of Public Works and Transport, Fayez Rasamny, on Tuesday welcomed a delegation from UAE-based renewable energy firm Global South Utilities (GSU), led by Vice President Mohammed Al Dhaheri. The delegation included notable figures such as Ali Al Shammari, CEO for Renewable Energy, Elie Salloum, Executive Director of Investments, and Mounir Khater. Their discussions centered on potential investment projects aimed at enhancing electricity production in Lebanon through renewable energy sources.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Rasamny also met with the Head of Delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Lebanon, Ms. Agn¨s Dhur, who was accompanied by Political Advisor Mr. Shawky Amine Eddine. The meeting focused on humanitarian cooperation and infrastructure priorities, underscoring the importance of collaboration between governmental and international entities.
Additionally, the Minister engaged in talks with MP Mohammad Yahya to review the public and developmental needs in the Akkar region. This dialogue highlighted ongoing efforts to address regional necessities and improve living conditions.
Rasamny also received a delegation from the municipal council of Jdeideh-Bouchrieh-Al-Sadd, led by Auguste Bachous. Their discussions revolved around road rehabilitation, pedestrian safety, and plans to transform the area's landfill into a sustainable coastal and tourist zone, indicating a commitment to environmental sustainability and urban development.
In a separate meeting, Rasamny and former MP Emile Rahmeh discussed current national affairs and developmental concerns, reflecting the Minister's active engagement with various stakeholders to address Lebanon's critical developmental challenges.
