Beirut: Public Works and Transport Minister, Fayez Rasamny, on Saturday followed up on the evolving security developments since early morning and their impact on civil aviation in the region, particularly at Beirut-Rafic Hariri International Airport, after most Gulf and foreign airlines canceled their flights to and from Lebanon.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Rasamny convened a coordination meeting at the airport with the Head of the Civil Aviation Authority, the Airport Director, the Commander of Airport Security, senior security officials, and the Executive Director of Middle East Airlines Ground Handling (MEAS).
The meeting focused on assessing the situation and reviewing measures to ensure flight safety, airport security, and the protection of arriving and departing passengers, with decisions to be taken in line with on-the-ground developments.
