Cairo: The 10th session of the Lebanese-Egyptian Higher Joint Committee concluded in Cairo, co-chaired by Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam and his Egyptian counterpart Mostafa Madbouly, in the presence of several ministers and senior officials from both countries.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the meetings resulted in inking 15 agreements, memoranda of understanding, and executive programs covering a wide range of fields, including economy, trade, transport, education, agriculture, energy, finance, industry, environment, consumer protection, and regulatory coordination.
Representing Lebanon, Minister of Public Works and Transport Fayez Rasamny signed three strategic cooperation agreements. The first was a Maritime Transport Cooperation Agreement, aimed at enhancing maritime navigation, exchanging technical expertise, and developing port collaboration between the two countries. The second was an Executive Program of the Industrial Cooperation Protocol, designed to develop industrial capacities, encourage productive partnerships, and promote technology and expertise exchange in the fields of industry and transport. The third was a Training Protocol in Civil Aviation, focused on capacity-building, exchange of technical know-how, and specialized aviation training.
In a statement, the MoPWT press office described the agreements as a strategic step toward deepening integration between Lebanon and Egypt, contributing to the advancement of transport, industry, and aviation sectors while reinforcing sustainable development in both countries. The Ministry added that these initiatives reflect the shared commitment of Beirut and Cairo to broaden cooperation and exchange expertise in key sectors essential for long-term growth and progress.
