Amman: Requested by Jordan, the General Secretariat of the Arab League declared the convening of an extraordinary session at the level of permanent delegates under Yemen's chairmanship on Thursday. The session aims to address pressing concerns regarding recent legislative actions taken by Israel. According to Jordan News Agency, the extraordinary session will focus on discussing the joint Arab response to the controversial laws passed by the Israeli Knesset. These laws prohibit the activities of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) within the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem. The session seeks to evaluate the implications of these laws and strategize a collective response. Additionally, the session will explore necessary steps to establish a unified Arab position in rejecting these Israeli laws and measures. There is an emphasis on mobilizing international support to confront these developments and work towards nullifying the laws viewed as illegal. The Arab League aims to solidify its stance and coordinate efforts to counteract the perceived threats to Palestinian rights and international law.
