Rocket Strikes from Southern Lebanon Injure Seven in Northern Israel.

Haifa: At least seven individuals were injured, one critically, following a series of rocket attacks launched from southern Lebanon targeting the northern Israeli cities of Haifa and Tiberias late Sunday. According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Israel's official broadcasting authority KAN reported that the Magen David Adom ambulance service confirmed the injuries resulting from several rockets striking the Carmel area and the bay in the middle of Haifa. Six people sustained injuries ranging from moderate to minor severity. These individuals were promptly transferred to Rambam Hospital in central Haifa for medical treatment. Additionally, the Israeli ambulance service reported a separate incident involving a rocket landing in Tiberias, which left one person with moderate to severe injuries. The Israeli military disclosed late Sunday that it had detected the launch of 15 projectiles from southern Lebanon toward the Carmel area and the bay in Haifa. This incident marks the first time since October 8 of the previous year that the city center of Haifa has been directly targeted, although surrounding areas have experienced rocket launches and interceptions in the past. This escalation comes amid ongoing cross-border hostilities between Lebanon's Hezbollah group and Israel, which have intensified since the onset of Israel's war on Gaza. The conflict has resulted in over 41,800 casualties, predominantly women and children, following an attack by the Palestinian group Hamas last October. According to Lebanese authorities, the violence has led to the deaths of at least 2,036 people, injuries to over 9,500 individuals, and the displacement of 1.2 million others. The international community has expressed concern that Israeli military actions in Lebanon could potentially broaden the Gaza conflict into a larger regional war.
