Beirut: Prime Minister Nawaf Salam said he and the accompanying government delegation were pleased to visit Iraq and hold talks in Baghdad with President Nizar Amidi and Prime Minister Ali Al-Zaidi.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, in a post on X, Salam emphasized during the discussions that Lebanon is determined to advance strategic connectivity and integration projects with countries across the region. The focus is particularly on the energy, telecommunications, and transport sectors, aiming to capitalize on opportunities created by current regional developments.
He stated that economic cooperation among regional countries serves as a key pillar of strength, stability, and shared prosperity, especially when based on a vision that delivers mutual benefits. PM Salam further expressed that Lebanon seeks to be an active partner with Iraq in shaping these regional projects, which would open new investment opportunities and support sustainable development and economic growth in both nations.
