Beirut: Prime Minister Nawaf Salam, on Monday chaired the daily ministerial meeting at the Grand Serail, where ministers reviewed military, security, and humanitarian developments, including the growing needs of displaced people.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Information Minister Paul Morcos stated that Salam warned that the current aid falls far short of rising needs amid increasing displacement, economic stagnation, and escalating incitement on social media. He emphasized that fuel supplies would reach beneficiaries, with strict action promised against fraud.
Defense Minister Michel Menassa reported that Israeli attacks have resulted in 1,238 fatalities and 3,543 injuries, highlighting the dire security situation. Meanwhile, Interior Minister Ahmad Al-Hajjar outlined recent arrests related to fuel fraud and theft, indicating efforts to curb criminal activities.
Social Affairs Minister Hanin El Sayed called for increased international support to address the pressing humanitarian needs, underscoring the critical need for global assistance in light of the growing challenges.
