Salamé Unveils Lebanese Reform Program at French-Lebanese Chamber of Commerce Event

Paris: Minister of Culture Ghassan Salamé participated in the 75th anniversary celebration of the French-Lebanese Chamber of Commerce, held in Paris. The event gathered political and economic figures, including French Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian, Lebanese Ambassador to France Rabih Chaer, and prominent business leaders from France and Lebanon. According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Minister Salamé addressed the attendees, presenting the Lebanese government's economic and financial reform program. He highlighted the challenging financial and banking situation inherited by the government. In his speech, Salamé emphasized the drafting of several bills, some already adopted, including a key law on banking secrecy required by international partners and organizations. He also mentioned the adoption of a law regulating the banking sector and ongoing efforts to finalize legislation concerning bank deposits, crucial for Lebanese citizens. Salamé further elaborated on the comprehensive 130-page economic vision developed for Lebanon, set to be unveiled on November 18 at the 'Beirut 1' conference. He noted the significant interest from global business leaders and companies in participating in the upcoming conference. Prior to the event, Salamé expressed his enthusiasm on his X platform about presenting the reform program to a distinguished audience at the chamber's anniversary celebration.
