Beirut: A series of Israeli airstrikes targeting different towns in Lebanon resulted in the death of 16 individuals and injuries to 22 others, spreading distress across various communities within the country.
According to Jordan News Agency, the airstrikes impacted several areas, with significant casualties reported in Hermel, Kharaib, and Yahmar towns. In Hermel, located in the northern Lebanese Bekaa, two children were among the four people killed, and 10 others suffered injuries following an afternoon airstrike on Tuesday. Meanwhile, another strike targeting a cafe in Kharaib, in the Saida district, resulted in four fatalities and seven injuries. Additionally, Yahmar town witnessed two deaths due to the airstrikes.
The Lebanese Ministry of Health further detailed that in Baalbek, a child was among the six people killed, with five more wounded as a result of the strikes. The ministry’s statement highlighted the severe impact on civilians, including multiple children.
The report also noted that Israeli wa
rplanes conducted extensive bombings in the towns of Tari, Beit Meshik, Budai, Shaath, Dors, and Hermel in the Bekaa region, intensifying the scale of destruction and human loss in the area. The continuous airstrikes have raised alarms about further escalation of tensions in the region.
