Sharjah Police Introduces AI-Powered Virtual Reality Radar to Combat Cyberbullying at GITEX 2024

Sharjah: Sheikh Salem bin Abdulrahman Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Ruler's Office, inaugurated the "Virtual Reality Radar" project at GITEX 2024, held at the Sharjah Police Headquarters platform within the Sharjah Government Pavilion. The event was attended by key figures including Sheikh Saud bin Sultan Al Qasimi and Major General Abdullah Mubarak bin Amer. According to Emirates News Agency, the "Virtual Reality Radar" is an innovative tool developed by Sharjah Police to address cyberbullying through artificial intelligence. This cutting-edge technology monitors and blocks bullying messages on digital platforms, reports violations, and ensures a safer online environment for users. The radar is part of Sharjah Police's initiative to leverage modern technology to enhance community security and tackle online offenses proactively. Another significant project unveiled by Sharjah Police at GITEX is "Smart Education," which focuses on establishing a secure digital community. This project introduces "Sand and Soun", the first Emirati virtual family, to promote security awareness across various criminal and security domains, including cybercrime and AI-related offenses. It utilizes interactive learning methods to educate the public about the risks associated with these crimes. Major General Bin Amer expressed that these projects underscore the police force's commitment to innovation and technology in enhancing societal safety and addressing modern challenges in crime prevention. He also noted that participating in GITEX provides an excellent platform to showcase these initiatives, aligning with the UAE's vision for digital transformation and improving quality of life.
