Sharjah Private Education Authority Initiates ‘Nursery Improvement Journey’ for Early Education Enhancement

Sharjah: The Sharjah Private Education Authority (SPEA) has introduced the "Nursery Improvement Journey," a new initiative under the ITQAN programme aimed at improving educational and care services in nurseries across the emirate. The effort seeks to bolster the skills of nursery staff and enhance the learning environment to ensure high-quality early childhood education. According to Emirates News Agency, the initiative, developed in partnership with a specialised early childhood education organisation, encompasses a series of improvement review visits to 141 public and private nurseries as part of its initial phase. These visits adhere to the Sharjah Nursery Improvement Framework, created with the Sharjah Education Academy, to establish benchmarks for refining teaching methods, learning spaces, and staff development. Ali Al Hosani, Director of SPEA, highlighted the ITQAN programme's expansion from private schools to nurseries, aligning with the vision of H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supre me Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah. The programme focuses on sustainable education and targets areas in need of development. Al Hosani underscored the importance of appointing specialists to work with nursery staff and parents, aiming to create a stimulating and safe environment for children. He expressed gratitude to nursery administrations and parents for their support, which he deemed crucial to the project's success. The Authority has also launched a "Professional Development Week" for nursery managers and early childhood educators, featuring sessions on best practices in early childhood education to enrich the learning experiences of young children. The Nursery Improvement Journey focuses on developing children's social, emotional, linguistic, and motor skills, while promoting parental involvement in their home development, aiming to contribute to a brighter societal future.
