Koura: Director General of State Security, Major General Edgar Lawandos, on Sunday arrived at the Amioun Serail accompanied by senior officers from the directorate to follow up on the ongoing municipal and mayoral elections in Koura. Lawandos was briefed on the progress of the electoral process by Koura District Commissioner Catherine Kfoury, and later visited the State Security office at the Serail, where he met with the head of the center, Captain Nehme Hanna.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the visit was part of a broader initiative to ensure transparency and security during the elections. Major General Lawandos emphasized the importance of a smooth electoral process and the role of state security in maintaining order throughout the proceedings. During his visit, Lawandos also reviewed security measures put in place to address any potential disruptions during the elections.
The discussions with Commissioner Kfoury and Captain Hanna focused on the logistical aspects of the election process, including voter turnout and the efficiency of polling stations.
