STOCKHOLM: Sweden's foreign trade surplus increased in July from a year ago amid a rebound in exports, German Press Agency (dpa) reported on Wednesday, quoting figures from Statistics Sweden. The trade surplus rose to 6.5 billion Swedish kronor (US$640 million) in July from 5.9 billion kronor in the corresponding month last year. In June, there was a surplus of 8.1 billion kronor (US$796.08 million). The value of both exports and imports recovered by almost 6 percent in July compared to last year. Exports were 5.9 percent higher, and imports climbed by 5.7 percent.The non-EU trade balance showed a surplus of 22.7 billion kronor, while the trade balance with the EU revealed a deficit of 16.2 billion kronor. On a seasonally adjusted basis, the trade surplus was 7.7 billion kronor in July, compared to 7.5 billion kronor in the previous month. Source: Emirates News Agency
