Damascus: The transportation sector in Syria, described as a vital economic artery, has faced significant challenges due to economic sanctions. These sanctions have severely impacted the procurement of essential equipment, access to funding, and international cooperation, as highlighted by Syrian Transport Minister Dr. Yarub Badr in a recent statement to SANA.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Minister Badr emphasized that lifting these sanctions in the coming months would be pivotal for the rehabilitation of Syria's transportation infrastructure. This includes the restoration of roads, ports, and railway lines, which are crucial for improving traffic safety and restoring regional and international connectivity.
