Muhammad bin Obaid Al Mazrouei, Chairman of the Arab Authority for Agricultural Investment and Development and the Authority’s economic advisor, Al-Arabi Al-Hamidi, concluded an official working visit to the State of Palestine that lasted for five days, during which the delegation visited several governorates and viewed several projects funded by the Authority, in addition to meeting with a number of Institutions and events related to the agricultural sector.
The visit culminated in a meeting with the Minister of Agriculture, Riyad Attari, the Undersecretary of the Ministry, the Assistant Undersecretary for Administration and Planning, the Assistant Undersecretary for Natural Resources, the Director General of International, Public Relations and Media, the Minister’s Advisor for Arab Funds, and the Director General of the Minister’s Office, where the Minister listened to a summary from the visiting delegation about what it saw during five days of visits and meetings and the situation. Al Mazrouei informed the Ministry of the most important topics related to developing the prospects for joint cooperation between the Ministry of Agriculture in Palestine and the Arab Authority.
Al Mazrouei gave a presentation on the Arab Authority, its areas of work and achievements, as well as the work methodology it operates with and the foundations of work development, indicating that the visit was successful in all details and created an impression on the Authority of the importance of directing more support to the State of Palestine because of the fertile ground that Palestine enjoys for work, development, investment, etc. The delegation saw it as a reflection of the Authority's previous funding for the agricultural sector.
In turn, the Minister of Agriculture briefed the visiting delegation on the achievements of the agricultural sector and future development plans and programs, stressing that Palestine needs more support and partnerships that would give the agricultural sector a great start towards more contributions to food security, self-sufficiency, creating more comprehensive job opportunities, increasing the proportion of exports and reducing imports. .
Extensive discussions took place between the Ministry of Agriculture staff and the visiting delegation, focusing on many strategic and technical issues that can be achieved through the exchange of ideas, information and experiences between the Arab Authority and the Ministry of Agriculture.
The Minister of Agriculture directed the attendees to the necessity of preparing ideas and proposals in coordination with the private sector and partners of the Ministry of Agriculture to prepare draft interventions through which development and investment programs can be crystallized within the framework of joint cooperation with the Arab Authority
