Today, Monday, Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry discussed with his British counterpart, James Cleverly, developments in the humanitarian situation following the devastation caused by Hurricane Daniel, which swept through eastern Libya. Egyptian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ambassador Ahmed Abu Zeid said that the meeting, which was held on the sidelines of the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, during which the two ministers exchanged visions and viewpoints on a number of regional and international files of common interest, most notably the developments in the Libyan file. They also discussed developments in the humanitarian situation in eastern Libya following the devastation caused by Hurricane Daniel, and the resulting huge loss of life, in addition to the huge material losses. The spokesman added that Minister Sameh Shoukry reviewed, in this context, Egypt's efforts to provide humanitarian support to the Libyan brothers, as well as efforts to advance the political process in Libya to reach elections to end the crisis and achieve the aspirations of the brotherly Libyan people.
