The Institute of Banking and Financial Studies of the Central Bank of Libya participated today, Tuesday, in the dialogue organized by the National Planning Council at the Mahari Hotel in the capital, Tripoli, on 'Natural Resources Alternative to Oil.' Its participation was under the title (The Role of the Banking Sector in Diversifying Funding sources). In the presence of prominent figures from the Central Bank of Libya, the Ministry of Economy and Trade, chairmen of the boards of directors of banks and their general managers, and representatives of the European Union mission to Libya and the France Experts Foundation, the Institute's participation focused on talking about the basic financing elements in economic development, and monetary policies that support the role of the business sector in its two parts, private and public, given the great importance that the banking sector represents in the development process through the basic services provided by the economy in a way that improves national income, co ntributes to diversifying its sources and increasing its growth rates. Many important issues in this field were also discussed, most notably encouraging investment in partnership between the public and private sectors, and supporting the participation of youth and women in the development process.
