The Polytechnic holds a workshop to discuss the challenges and solutions facing the metal industries sector in Palestine

As part of the efforts of Palestine Polytechnic University seeking to achieve its pioneering vision in serving the national economic sectors, Palestine Polytechnic University held an interactive workshop to discuss the challenges and solutions facing the metal industries sector in Palestine in cooperation with the Federation of Metallurgical Industries and the German Foundation for International Cooperation GIZ. The President of Palestine Polytechnic University, Dr. Amjad Barham, received the President of the National Authority for Vocational and Technical Education and Training, Dr. Ziad Goelis, the Vice President of the Federation of Metallurgical Industries, Robin Al-Julani, and the delegation representing the Federation, in the presence of the Vice President of the University for Community Service Affairs and the deans of the faculties of engineering, dual studies, and applied professions. The workshop was opened with a welcoming speech by the university president, in which he reaffirmed that the university administration places among its priorities the strengthening of interactive partnerships with all national sectors, including the metal industry sector, out of belief in the importance of integrating roles between institutions of Palestinian society to achieve sustainable national development. He also emphasized the pivotal importance of the workshop that the university held with representatives of the Federation of Metallurgical Industries in order to learn about the needs and expectations of this sector, which Polytechnic University seeks through the workshop and other meetings to identify, study and meet within the standards of quality and performance that distinguish Palestine Polytechnic University. In his speech, Joels referred to the Authority's efforts aimed at improving the quality of education and vocational and technical training in Palestine through a group of development projects, and working to enable the developmental role of the vocational and technical training sector in Palestine. He pointed out the Authority's aspiration, through holding workshops with various sectors, to Identifying the needs of the local market and meeting them in cooperation with academic institutions and vocational and technical training centers and in partnership with relevant ministries and government institutions, because the vocational education sector plays an important and vital role in increasing the level of productivity and improving competitiveness by supplying the economic sectors with professional competencies with the ability and performance that contribute In promoting development. Al-Julani expressed the importance of continuing the partnership between the Federation of Metallurgical Industries and Palestine Polytechnic University to identify the renewed needs of the sector and work to meet them within visions and aspirations that all interested parties will work on and move towards enabling the performance of the industrial sector, especially the Federation of Metallurgical Industries, expressing his hope that the objectives of the workshop will be achieved. To achieve integration between the university and its cadres, the industry and its parties from all national Palestinian industries. At the conclusion of the workshop, it was agreed to continue the work and steps towards achieving integration between all parties to contribute to raising the efficiency of the metal industries sector through the services that Palestine Polytechnic University will work to provide, which began its pioneering approach to opening industrial specializations, which included the specialization of production engineering and industrial processes. And the intermediate professional diploma specializations, which include sustainable manufacturing engineering, industrial product design, and machine operators specialization within the specialized professional diploma programs.
