The Special Representative of the Secretary-General and Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya, Abdullah Batili, met today, Wednesday in Tripoli, with the US Special Envoy, Ambassador Richard Norland, and the Charge d'Affaires of the US Embassy in Libya, Jeremy Brent. The US Embassy in Libya quoted Special Envoy Ambassador Norland as saying: In our meeting with the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Batili, the Chargé d'Affaires and I expressed US support for his ongoing efforts to advance the political process. The embassy added in a blog post on the X website that the current debate over budget problems and the devaluation of the dinar emphasizes the need for concessions and unified governance, calling on all institutional actors to participate in a dialogue to resolve the remaining obstacles that stand in the way of a reliable path to elections.
