Beirut: Minister of Tourism, Laura El-Khazen Lahoud, welcomed in an issued statement this afternoon, "the United Arab Emirates' decision to allow its citizens to travel to Lebanon starting May 7, following President Joseph Aoun's visit to Abu Dhabi last week."
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Lahoud stated that this decision comes after years of imposing the travel ban and supports the measures taken by the Lebanese government, various security bodies, and vital facilities to provide the best tourism services and ensure the safety and comfort of visitors.
Minister Lahoud considered that "this decision confirms the return of confidence in Lebanon and opens the door to developing the historical ties that unite the two countries," expressing her hope that "the remaining Gulf Cooperation Council countries will follow the UAE's step the soonest possible, so that Lebanon can once again become a destination for its Arab brothers and a center for tourism and cultural activity in the region."
