Washington: In a press conference concerning the recent arrest of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his wife, US President Donald Trump declared a temporary US administration in Venezuela until a secure transition of power occurs. Trump stated, "At my direction, the armed forces today conducted an extraordinary military operation in Venezuela. The objective of the operation was to overthrow the dictator Maduro and bring him to face American justice. The U.S. military arrested Maduro and his wife at midnight."
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Trump further elaborated on the situation, indicating that major US oil companies will be involved in Venezuela during this interim governance period. He also commented on the military strategy, noting, "We had assumed that a second wave of strikes would be carried out in Venezuela and would be broader, but we limited ourselves to the first wave."
