Beirut: The Turkish ship AKDENIZ docked at the Port of Beirut on Thursday, carrying with it 36 portable shower and toilet units intended for schools in southern Lebanon. These schools are serving as temporary shelters for individuals displaced by recent Israeli aggression. According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Turkish Ambassador to Lebanon, Murat Lutem, formally handed over the much-needed units to Environment Minister Nasser Yassin. Minister Yassin, who also coordinates the governmental emergency committee, received the units in a ceremony attended by Relief Committee Secretary-General Brigadier General Bassam Al-Nabulsi. Ambassador Lutem reiterated Turkey's dedication to assisting Lebanon during this critical time. Minister Yassin expressed gratitude towards Turkey and its President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, for their significant support. He highlighted the scale of displacement in southern Lebanon, noting that over 250,000 people have been forced to leave their homes.
