Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Friday that his country was preparing to welcome Russian President Vladimir Putin next August, hoping that the grain deal would be extended.
"We are preparing to host (Russian President Vladimir) Putin in Turkiye in August. We are of the same mind on the extension of the Black Sea grain corridor," he told reporters following Friday Prayers in Istanbul.
The Turkish president voiced hope that the parties to the Black Sea grain deal would extend the agreement set to expire on July 17.
He added that he would discuss with the Russian leader a prisoner swap deal between Moscow and Kyiv and the extension of the grain deal by another three months.
