U.S. Ambassador Emphasizes Caution in Ongoing Rome Talks

Beirut: U.S. Ambassador to Lebanon Michel Issa on Monday stated that the ongoing negotiations in Rome are progressing and expressed optimism for a positive resolution.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Issa conveyed his encouragement over the continuation of the discussions, expressing hope for a beneficial outcome for both governments involved. He underscored the necessity of thorough technical work to ensure the safety of civilians involved.

Issa highlighted the crucial difference between reaching an agreement on paper and implementing it responsibly, emphasizing that a hasty process could jeopardize civilian safety, even though the primary goal of the talks is to ensure their protection.
