UAE Landmarks Light Up in Support of Lebanon

ABU DHABI: In a striking show of support for Lebanon, various iconic landmarks throughout the United Arab Emirates, including Burj Khalifa, Mubadala Tower, and ADNOC Building, have been illuminated with the Lebanese flag and the campaign slogan "UAE Stands with Lebanon." According to Emirates News Agency, this initiative is part of a broader campaign directed by President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, with the follow-up by His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court. The supervision of the campaign is handled by H.H. Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Fallen Heroes' Affairs and Chair of the International Humanitarian and Philanthropic Council. The campaign, which commenced on Tuesday, October 8, and is set to run until Monday, October 21, 2024, not only features the lighting of landmarks but also includes significant humanitarian effo rts. Relief aid has been collected at notable locations such as the Dubai Exhibition Centre in Expo City and the Abu Dhabi Ports Cruise Terminal, amassing a total of 20,000 boxes of food parcels, shelter supplies, and other forms of relief aid. Furthermore, an additional humanitarian collection event is scheduled to take place at the Expo Centre Sharjah on Saturday, October 19th, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. This event is a collaborative effort involving The Big Heart Foundation, Sharjah Charity Association, and the International Humanitarian and Philanthropic Council, aiming to gather further support for the Lebanese people during their time of need.
