PARIS: The UAE's Paralympic team concluded their impressive showing at the Paris 2024 Games with a fourth-place finish for both Maryam Al-Zeyoudi and Mohamed Khamis. The duo, representing athletics and weightlifting respectively, left their mark on the international stage. In the women's shot put F40 final, Maryam Al-Zeyoudi shattered her personal best with a throw of 8.62 meters. This remarkable achievement placed her just centimeters behind the bronze medalist, Tunisia's Raja Jebali. While the Netherlands' Lara Baars took gold with a new Paralympic record, Al-Zeyoudi's performance showcased her talent. Veteran weightlifter Mohammed Khamis also secured a fourth-place finish in the 88 kg category. Despite a valiant effort, Khamis fell just short of the bronze medal, lifting 210 kg compared to Ukraine's Yury' 214 kg. Source: Emirates News Agency
