UNICEF Reports Dire Conditions for One Million Children in Gaza

Geneva: Maan - One million children in the Gaza Strip are enduring severe hardships, with approximately 40 children losing their lives daily over the past year, according to a recent statement by the United Nations. According to Maan News Agency, UNICEF spokesman James Elder highlighted the ongoing suffering of children in Gaza, more than a year after the conflict with Israel. Elder described Gaza as "the true embodiment of hell on earth" for its children, emphasizing the worsening situation. He stated that since the conflict's onset, an estimated 14,100 children have died, averaging between 35 and 40 fatalities each day. Elder affirmed the reliability of the figures, which estimate the total number of martyrs at over 42,400, underscoring the many more individuals still trapped under rubble. He remarked on the grim conditions facing those who survive daily airstrikes and military activities, including repeated displacement due to violence and eviction orders. The spokesperson raised concerns about the lack of safe havens for children and their families, questioning their safety in schools, shelters, hospitals, and overcrowded camps.
