Updated – 5 martyrs and 25 injured in an explosion in eastern Gaza

Five citizens were martyred and 25 others were injured, on Wednesday evening, as a result of an explosion that occurred in the Malka area, east of Gaza City.

The Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip confirmed that five citizens were killed, and 25 others were injured. They were transferred to Al-Shifa Medical Complex as a result of the explosion in eastern Gaza.

Ma'an's correspondent reported that an explosion occurred during a demonstration of dozens of citizens near the separation fence east of Gaza City, resulting in a number of injuries, some of which were described as serious.

Eyewitnesses said that a number of members of the engineering unit arrived at Malka Gate to detonate an explosive device, so the occupation opened fire on their location and prevented them from leaving the place, until the device exploded.

The demonstrators held the occupation fully responsible for what happened on the eastern border of the Gaza Strip
