US Embassy Warning in Lebanon Misreported as New Advisory, Clarifies Routine Update

Beirut: Some electronic websites have circulated news claiming that the US Embassy in Lebanon issued a new warning urging its citizens to leave or take shelter.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the "Fact Check Lebanon" team at the Ministry of Information, after verifying the content of the news, reviewing the embassy's official website, and contacting its media officer, found that what is being circulated is inaccurate.

It was confirmed that the procedure of updating security guidelines is a routine measure carried out by the embassy periodically every two days, in light of the current security situation. This action does not fall within the scope of issuing a new or exceptional warning, as initially reported by some outlets.
