Muscat: Muscat Stock Exchange (MSX) experienced a modest increase in its general index today, closing 14.6 points higher at 4765.60, a 0.31% rise from the previous session’s close of 4750.97 points. Despite this gain, the trading value saw a significant decrease.
According to Oman News Agency, the trading value today was recorded at RO 1,499,930, marking a 30.1% drop compared to the last session, which posted a trading value of RO 2,145,655. The report released by MSX also indicated a slight increase in the market value, which went up by 0.115% to approximately RO 24.63 billion.
Further details from the report showed that the value of shares bought by non-Omani investors stood at RO 210,000, accounting for 14.01% of the total trading value. Conversely, the shares sold by non-Omani investors amounted to RO 175,000, which is 11.64% of the total. Consequently, the net investment by non-Omani investors saw an increase of 2.36%, totaling RO 35,000.
