Euro-Med Monitor Denounces Israeli Military Actions Against Red Cross in Lebanon

CAIRO: Euro-Med Monitor for Human Rights has strongly condemned the Israeli military's repeated targeting of Red Cross relief and ambulance teams in Lebanon, describing it as a serious breach of international humanitarian law. According to Jordan News Agency, the incidents represent a disturbing pattern of attacks against humanitarian workers, which are explicitly protected under international law. The organization highlighted that such actions against the Red Cross, known for its neutral and humanitarian efforts in conflict zones, undermine the fundamental principles of international humanitarian norms and the safety of non-combatants in war-stricken areas. The Euro-Med Monitor emphasized the importance of respecting the Red Cross and its mission to alleviate human suffering and promote the rights of people affected by armed conflicts and other situations of violence. It called for immediate cessation of hostilities against humanitarian workers and stressed that these workers should be allowed to carry out their duties without fear of being targeted.
