Jordan Sees Significant Increase in Mobile Device Imports in 2024

Amman: Jordan's imports of mobile devices have seen a notable increase in the first nine months of 2024, with statistics showing approximately 1.5 million units imported, totaling a value of around JD127 million. This represents a significant rise from the previous year during the same period, where the imports were about 1.276 million devices valued at JD111.6 million. According to Jordan News Agency, President of the Vision Association for Cellular Device Investors and Accessories, the data provided by the Jordanian General Customs Department confirm the accuracy of these figures and signify a vibrant commercial activity in the mobile device sector within the country. Aloush emphasized the need to monitor this upward trend closely, pointing out that the 17.5% increase in the volume of imported devices year-over-year suggests a strong consumer demand for newer technology and a shift in consumer preferences that the market needs to adapt to.
