Forced Displacement and Starvation in Gaza Could Constitute War Crimes, Says Human Rights Watch

GAZA CITY: Human Rights Watch has issued a statement asserting that the recent actions in Gaza, including forced displacement and the use of starvation as a weapon, could potentially be classified as war crimes. According to Maan News Agency, the organization highlighted the Israeli army's orders for the civilian population in northern Gaza to evacuate, coupled with the cessation of food aid to those who have remained. Human Rights Watch emphasized that since the beginning of October, approximately 400,000 individuals have been instructed to vacate their homes in northern Gaza. The statement from Human Rights Watch further noted that the Israeli army's actions have left civilians with no secure refuge, characterizing the forced displacement as illegal under international law. The organization underscored the severity of these measures and their potential implications under the framework of war crimes.
