Kuwait’s Commitment to Anti-Crime Efforts Highlighted at UN Conference

VIENNA: Kuwait's active participation in the 12th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention against Transnational Organized Crime (UNTOC) underscores its strong commitment to combating global crime, according to a senior Kuwaiti diplomat. According to Kuwait News Agency, Ambassador Talal Al-Fassam, Kuwait's Permanent Representative to the United Nations in Vienna, emphasized the importance of confronting transnational organized crime, which poses significant threats to the stability and security of communities worldwide. Ambassador Al-Fassam made these remarks while leading the Kuwaiti delegation at the session, which took place earlier this week. The ambassador noted that Kuwait is dedicated to enhancing regional cooperation through the exchange of information and coordination with international organizations, including the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime and Interpol. He further stated that Kuwait is continually updating its legislation to effectively address and combat organi zed crime. The session marked a significant platform for Kuwait to reaffirm its commitment to international collaboration in the fight against organized crime and to highlight its ongoing efforts to strengthen legal frameworks and partnerships.
