Beirut: The death toll in Lebanon from Israeli airstrikes has escalated dramatically to 2,464, as confirmed by the Lebanese Health Emergency Center. The ongoing raids, particularly intense in the southern suburbs of the capital Beirut, have also resulted in over 11,530 injuries. According to Kuwait News Agency, the Lebanese Health Emergency Center released a statement detailing the severe impact of the airstrikes across various Lebanese towns and areas. The statement highlighted the continuous assaults, especially on Beirut's southern suburbs, aggravating the humanitarian situation significantly. The Lebanese National News Agency further reported that recent airstrikes targeted the Al-Qard Al-Hassan Foundation in the Al-Salam neighborhood and Burj Al-Barajneh, causing substantial material damages. These areas in the southern suburb have seen some of the most severe devastations. In a related report, the Lebanese army disclosed the loss of three soldiers due to an airstrike in southern Lebanon, underscorin g the increasing military casualties alongside civilian tolls. Since the onset of escalated attacks in October 2023, the situation in Lebanon has worsened, with a marked increase in airstrikes and artillery shelling by Israel. This escalation has not only led to a significant rise in casualties but also displaced over a million people from their homes, exacerbating the crisis in the region.
