Ahmed bin Mohammed Chairs Dubai Media Council Meeting to Boost Media Innovation.

Dubai: H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council (DMC), today chaired a meeting of the council. This meeting underscores Sheikh Ahmed's dedication to assessing the Council's progress and evaluating its strategic objectives with a central focus on bolstering Dubai's global leadership in the media industry. According to Emirates News Agency, Sheikh Ahmed praised the Council's initiatives to enhance Dubai's media capabilities and competitiveness. He emphasized the council's strategic priorities, which include nurturing Emirati media talent, fostering global partnerships, and exchanging expertise to elevate the quality of local media content to international standards. These efforts are part of a broader strategy to solidify Dubai's position as a hub for media innovation and creativity. The meeting, which was attended by Mona Ghanem Al Marri, Vice Chairperson and Managing Director of the Dubai Media Council, reviewed Dubai Media In corporated's (DMI) strategic development initiatives. Key areas of focus include attracting and training Emirati media talent, expanding strategic partnerships with media institutions, and collaborating with leading global new media technology companies. These initiatives aim to ensure DMI remains competitive and continues to deliver high-quality content that meets the expectations of audiences both within the UAE and internationally. The upcoming campaign, launched in collaboration with government, semi-government and private sector entities, will coincide with the UAE Flag Day and the 53rd Eid Al Etihad celebrations. Sheikh Ahmed was briefed about the preparation for the campaign, which will showcase the vibrant array of festivities across the emirate from 3rd November to 2nd December. During the meeting, Sheikh Ahmed reviewed the Media Knowledge Exchange Programme, a strategic initiative by the Dubai Media Council designed to position Dubai as a leader in media innovation. This programme facilitates the adoption of global media best practices, aiming to enhance Dubai's media ecosystem and strengthen its competitive edge in the evolving global landscape. Sheikh Ahmed received updates on the programme's progress, which included a recent visit by the council's delegation to Japan. During this visit, they engaged with 22 media organisations to learn about their operations, advanced technologies, and human resource development strategies. Discussions during these visits focused on fostering collaboration to enhance the local media sector, including knowledge exchange and media production partnerships. The programme aims to train Emirati media professionals using insights drawn from Japanese companies. The meeting was also attended by Nehal Badri, Secretary-General of the Dubai Media Council, along with Council members Malek Al Malek, Mohammed Al Mulla, Essam Kazim, Abdullah Belhoul, and Amal Ahmed bin Shabib.
