President Aoun Engages with Russian Ambassador and Discusses Regional Developments

Baabda: President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, met with the Russian Ambassador to Lebanon, Alexander Rudakov, at Baabda Palace. The ambassador was accompanied by a delegation from the Russian embassy.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, discussions concentrated on the general situation in Lebanon, focusing on political and security developments. They also explored Lebanese-Russian relations and potential avenues for collaboration across different sectors. The Russian ambassador expressed Russia's willingness to support Lebanon, particularly during its recovery phase following President Aoun's election and the establishment of a new government.

In addition to the meeting with the Russian ambassador, President Aoun received MP Adib Abdel Massih. The discussions with Abdel Massih revolved around the situation in southern Lebanon amid ongoing Israeli attacks, including a recent airstrike on Beirut's southern suburb. The conversation also included the developmental and social needs of the Koura region. Abdel Massih highlighted the economic challenges and the outcomes of the Lebanese delegation's discussions with the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund in Washington, praising President Aoun's efforts to unite the Lebanese people.

Later in the day, President Aoun met with a delegation from the Executive Board of the Lebanese Pilots' Syndicate, led by Captain Alain Johnny Dib. Captain Dib addressed the difficulties faced by Lebanese pilots and expressed optimism for the advancement of Lebanon's aviation sector. President Aoun commended the pilots for their professionalism and bravery, especially during the recent Israeli conflict, and reiterated the state's commitment to developing the aviation sector as part of the broader reform process.
