Beirut: President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, met with Russian Ambassador to Lebanon, Alexander Rudakov, and his delegation at Baabda Palace on Monday. The discussions centered on Lebanon's current political and security climate and its relations with Russia, exploring avenues for collaboration across multiple sectors.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Ambassador Rudakov conveyed Russia's willingness to support Lebanon, emphasizing assistance during the country's recovery phase following President Aoun's election and the establishment of a new government.
In a subsequent meeting, President Aoun conferred with MP Adib Abdel Massih, focusing on the security situation in southern Lebanon amidst ongoing Israeli attacks, including the latest airstrike on Beirut's southern suburb. The dialogue also covered developmental and social needs in the Koura region.
MP Abdel Massih highlighted his discussions with the President about Lebanon's economic challenges and the outcomes of recent negotiations with the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund in Washington. He expressed his endorsement of President Aoun's efforts to unify the Lebanese people and implement his inaugural speech, which has garnered full support.
