Batroun: Head of the Free Patriotic Movement, MP Gebran Bassil, on Sunday urged citizens to turn out in force for the municipal elections in Batroun, emphasizing the importance of civic engagement and inclusive representation. Speaking after casting his vote at the Official Complementary School polling station, Bassil said the FPM's stance across Lebanon had been one of respecting and supporting the choices of local families where appropriate.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Bassil noted that FPM supporters and members are present across all northern towns, from Batroun to Wadi Khaled. Highlighting the formation of a diverse electoral list in Batroun, Bassil mentioned that the slate included representatives from across the political and social spectrum, including independents. He emphasized respect for the town's social fabric and acknowledged those who formed competing lists as friends and family.
The FPM leader underscored Batroun's role as a model of development and unity, calling for continued efforts to improve infrastructure and accommodate growth. He stated that the party brought everyone together, regardless of political weight, affirming the inclusive nature of the list by stressing the significance of the Sunni member of the municipal council.
Bassil also revealed that over 100 FPM-affiliated candidates won by acclamation in municipalities across Lebanon, reiterating the party's consistent call for consensus.
