According to Sudan News Agency, the governor has acknowledged the challenges faced by electricity workers amid complex circumstances. The recent extensive targeting and damage to electricity transformer stations have resulted in severe disruptions. The situation has led to harsh power outage schedules, exacerbating citizens' struggles. The governor emphasized the need for collaboration with the Electricity Administration and Khartoum State to urgently address the issue, highlighting the importance of preventing surges that contribute to the crisis.
The Director of Omdurman Electricity has recognized the difficulties citizens face due to the long-term outage programming caused by transformer targeting. A new schedule has been announced, which includes six hours of electricity followed by 12-hour outages. Ongoing efforts aim to reduce the duration of power outages, although significant work remains to be done.
