Akkar: The Ministry of Public Works and Transport announced that rehabilitation efforts are underway at border crossings in Akkar, which suffered damage from Israeli strikes. These strikes targeted three key bridges that connect Lebanon and Syria: Al-Arida, Al-Sabea Qmar, and Al-Abboudieh.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, technical teams from the ministry, working alongside relevant authorities, have started to establish temporary crossings to maintain border traffic and ensure uninterrupted connectivity between the two nations. At Al-Areeda, a temporary crossing has been completed and is now open to traffic. Meanwhile, at Al-Sabea Qmar, temporary repair efforts are ongoing to facilitate passage until a permanent solution can be realized. The construction of a temporary crossing at Al-Abboudieh is set to begin shortly.
The ministry emphasized that these are provisional measures intended to sustain normal operations while comprehensive engineering studies are conducted with specialized consultancy firms. These studies will inform the reconstruction of the three bridges to their original specifications, reaffirming the ministry's full commitment to restoring regular border functions.
