Beirut: Hezbollah commemorated the first martyrdom anniversary of its secretaries general Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah and Sayyed Hashem Safieddine, who were assassinated during the 66-day Israeli war on Lebanon in late 2024.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, a ceremony was held at the shrines of the martyred Hezbollah Secretaries General, including Sayyed Nasrallah in Beirut's Dahieh, Sayyed Safieddine in Deir Qanoun Al-Nahr town, South Lebanon, and Sayyed Abbas Al-Moussawi in Nabi Sheit town, Bekaa. Hezbollah Secretary General Sheikh Naim Qassem addressed the gathering, emphasizing that the organization has recovered from the war losses and is prepared to confront any future Zionist aggression on Lebanon.
The ceremony also featured a speech by Supreme Leader Imam Sayyed Ali Khameni, delivered by his representative, Sheikh Moussa Al-Araki. The speech underscored Iran's ongoing support for Lebanon. Imam Khamenei addressed Martyr Sayyed Nasrallah directly, affirming the commitment of Hezbollah members to continue the path of resistance until achieving victory.
At 18:21, the precise time when 83 tons of explosives were used to assassinate Sayyed Nasrallah on September 27, 2024, a moment of reflection and honor was observed in several areas across Lebanon. Sayyed Safieddine was martyred on October 3, 2024, in another attack involving more than 70 tons of explosives.
The previous day, thousands of resistance supporters had gathered for the 'Night of Ascension' ceremony at the site where Sayyed Nasrallah was martyred.
