Beirut: Lebanon's Army Commander General Rodolphe Haykal received on Tuesday at his Yarzeh office the UK Defence Senior Advisor to the Middle East and North Africa (DSAME) Vice Admiral Edward Ahlgren, along with an accompanying delegation. The British Ambassador to Lebanon, Hamish Cowell, and Military Attach© Lieutenant Colonel Charles Smith were also present during the meeting.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the discussion focused on the general situation in Lebanon and the region, as well as exploring ways to enhance cooperation between the armies of the United Kingdom and Lebanon.
In a separate meeting, General Haykal also met with the United Nations Special Coordinator for Lebanon, Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert. Their discussions centered on the general situation in Lebanon and the broader regional context.
