Beirut: President of the Republic, Joseph Aoun, reiterated the state's responsibility to create a favorable environment for investment in Lebanon during a meeting with a delegation from the Lebanese Economic Forum. He highlighted the importance of political stability as a crucial factor in attracting investors, noting that despite challenges in the south, current indicators remain encouraging.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, President Aoun also met with MP Dr. Haidar Nasser at Baabda Palace, where they discussed the situation in north Lebanon, especially Tripoli. MP Nasser expressed support for the President's national stances during these sensitive times and emphasized the city's enduring heritage of scholarship, law, and coexistence.
Additionally, President Aoun hosted MP Ihab Matar and Dr. Elie Serghani, who informed him about an initiative by the Lebanese "Eastern Club for Civilizations Dialogue" and the Social Foundation for Dialogue of Civilizations in Australia. The initiative involves planting a cedar forest in Sydney, an area donated by Lebanese expatriate George Sarkis, with saplings from Lebanon, including one named after President Aoun.
On the political front, MP Matar congratulated President Aoun on the anniversary of his presidential term. Furthermore, President Aoun met with newly appointed Lebanese ambassadors to Senegal, Iraq, and Indonesia, urging them to strengthen Lebanon's bilateral relations with these countries.
