Beirut: President of the Republic, Joseph Aoun, on Thursday discussed financial and monetary conditions with Central Bank Governor Karim Saeed, including precautionary measures to maintain stability and liquidity. Talks also covered upcoming IMF spring meetings, with the governor set to participate remotely.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Aoun also met former minister Ibrahim Shamseddine to review local developments. The discussions aimed to address the country's ongoing challenges and explore potential solutions to ensure economic stability.
Separately, a delegation from Yaroun detailed widespread destruction in the border town and displacement of residents. Aoun reaffirmed efforts to protect civilians, prevent further demolitions, and support residents' return and reconstruction after hostilities end. The president's commitment to addressing the needs of the displaced residents underscores the government's focus on rehabilitation and recovery efforts in affected areas.
