KUWAIT CITY: Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit issued a strong condemnation of the recent Israeli military actions in Nabatieh, Lebanon, and northern Gaza, highlighting the severe impact on civilians and essential infrastructure. The statement, released on Wednesday, particularly noted the raid on Nabatieh which resulted in numerous casualties, including the death and injury of local officials and aid workers. According to Kuwait News Agency, Secretary-General Gheit described the Israeli operations as indiscriminate, with the apparent intent to inflict conditions in Lebanon similar to those currently experienced in Gaza. He accused Israel of perpetrating massacres against civilians, stating that the intensity and ferocity of the attacks have escalated beyond the initial stages of the conflict. Gheit emphasized that these actions suggest a deliberate strategy to depopulate northern Gaza and indicated a clear intention by Israel to prolong the conflict. The Arab League has long been vocal in its criticism of Israeli policies and actions regarding Palestine and its neighboring regions. This latest condemnation aligns with the organization's continued call for the cessation of violence and the need for peaceful resolution to conflicts affecting the Arab world.
