Beirut: Lebanon's Army Commander, General Rodolphe Haykal, visited France on December 17 and 18, 2025, and met with his French counterpart, Chief of Defense Staff of the French Armed Forces, General Fabien Mandon, with whom he discussed ways to enhance cooperation between the armies of both countries, particularly in the field of strengthening the capabilities of the military institution and joint training.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, during the meeting, General Mandon stressed the importance of supporting the army to maintain Lebanon's security, sovereignty, and stability.
In turn, General Haykal thanked General Mandon and the French authorities for their continued initiatives to support Lebanon and the army during the current exceptional circumstances, noting the great efforts made by the army to ensure Lebanon's security and stability, and to implement the first phase of its plan in the South Litani Sector within the specified timeframe.
