Beirut: Lebanon's Army Commander, General Rodolphe Haykal, on Thursday welcomed Egyptian Ambassador to Lebanon, Alaa Moussa, along with the Military Attach©, Brigadier General Amr Abdel Karim Eid Muhammad, at his office in Yarzeh. The conversation reportedly focused on the current situation in Lebanon and the broader region, as well as the cooperative relations between the military forces of both nations.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, General Haykal also held discussions with Evariste Karambizi, Director of the Peace Division of the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), and Rabih Haddad, Director of UNITAR's Diplomatic Division. The meeting centered on potential avenues for supporting the Lebanese army.
Later in the day, the Army Commander met with former Minister Ziad Makary and the President of Caritas Lebanon, Father Michel Abboud. The discussions during these meetings were reportedly focused on various matters.
